Position Title: Marketing Coordinator

Position Summary

The Marketing Coordinator plays a vital role in bringing Food Connects' mission to life through compelling storytelling and engaging content. Working closely with the Marketing & Communications Director, this position focuses on crafting a range of content that connects with our target audiences, increases brand awareness, and drives support for our programs. Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Food Hub Marketing (~5 hours/week)

In coordination with the Marketing & Communications Director:

  • Generate content for regular newsletter updates and social media posts highlighting farm partners and products of the season.

  • Maintain and update relevant sections of the Food Hub website with product descriptions, product imagery, vendor information, and ordering information.

  • Monitor and optimize Food Hub email lists and customer outreach platforms.

  • Coordinate the design and distribution of Food Hub print and digital outreach materials (brochures, catalogs, flyers, etc.) to vendors, wholesale customers, and targeted stakeholders.

  • Monitor inventory of printed Food Hub outreach and tabling event materials, including trifolds, product handouts etc.

  • Track and measure Food Hub engagement data, including sales trends and customer feedback.

  • Support an external graphic designer in designing and executing Food Hub projects.

Farm to School Marketing (~5 hours/week)

In coordination with the Marketing & Communications Director:

  • Generate content for newsletter updates and social media.

  • Maintain and update the Farm to School website pages with resources, program overviews, and stakeholder spotlights.

  • Monitor and optimize Farm to School email lists and communication with schools, educators, and community partners.

  • Coordinate the design and distribution of Farm to School outreach materials designed for schools, parents, and the broader community.

  • Monitor inventory of printed Farm to School outreach and event tabling materials, including trifolds, product handouts etc.

  • Track and measure Farm to School engagement data, including school participation rates and impact stories.

  • Support an external graphic designer in designing and executing Farm to School projects.

Vermont Way Foods Marketing (~5 hours/week)

In coordination with the Marketing & Communications Director:

  • Generate content for social media highlighting new products, producer stories, and where to find Vermont Way Foods products.

  • Maintain and update the Vermont Way Foods website with product listings, producer features, and retail partner information.

  • Monitor and optimize Vermont Way Foods email lists for customer outreach.

  • Coordinate the design and distribution of Vermont Way Foods outreach materials (brochures, flyers, point-of-sale displays).

  • Monitor inventory of printed Farm to School outreach and event tabling materials, including trifolds, product handouts etc.

  • Track and measure Vermont Way Foods engagement data, including sales figures and retail partner feedback.

  • Support an external graphic designer in designing and executing Vermont Way Foods projects.

Vermont Harvest of the Month program Marketing: ~5 hours/week

In coordination with the Marketing & Communications Director:

  • Generate content for monthly newsletter and social media posts. 

  • Maintain and update the Vermont Harvest of the Month website. 

  • Manage and optimize the Vermont Harvest of the Month mailing list and email marketing platform.

  • Coordinate the design and distribution of Vermont Harvest of the Month outreach materials and work with Food Connects staff to distribute these to targeted stakeholders, including newsletters, brochures, annual reports, fliers, calendars, and posters.

  • Maximize the impact of Vermont Harvest of the Month marketing and outreach tools/efforts/materials (newsletters, social media posts, etc)

  • Manage the inventory of Vermont Harvest of the Month materials (including posters, calendars and digital educational materials and resources).

  • Track and measure Vermont Harvest of the Month engagement data.

  • Support an external graphic designer in designing and executing Vermont Harvest of the Month projects.

Work Conditions: The position is based in the Food Connects office in Brattleboro, although Food Connects promotes a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid-remote model. The right candidate will balance remote work with the importance of being in person, in order to experience what it's like to live out our mission on a day-to-day basis. 

Physical Demands: This position entails extensive use of a desktop or laptop computer, sitting or standing at a desk workstation. 

Compensation and Benefits

  • This is a part-time, non-exempt, hourly position. 

  • Pay rate is $20.00 hourly, negotiable depending on experience.
